Titans

Two years after the performance Relic that travelled into 20 international festivals and after the experiential walk “Routes on Roots” held in Elefsina within the framework of the European project “Meeting “the Odyssey” in collaboration with the Asia Minor Association of Elefsina, the artist Euripides Laskaridis together with his OSMOSIS team presented the new performance “Titans”, part of the Eleusis 2021 project “Human Condition”.

Awarded the Pina Bausch Fellowship in 2016 and having won for the performance Titans the support of Fondation d’ entreprise Hermès within the framework of the New Settings programme, Euripides Laskaridis explores the perseverance of humankind in the face of the unknown. In a realm before the beginning and after the end of time, two lonely creatures continuously re-discover eternity and reflect on the small and big things which make up our world: the fragments of daily routine, the beauty of starlight, and the stillness of time. Opposites are bound to coexist: there is nowhere else to go. TITANS pays tribute to every failed attempt — be it personal or collective — to embody a flawless archetype, an unbroken self, a world immaculate.

Titans is a co-production of Eleusis 2021 together with Athens & Epidaurus Festival (Greece), Theatre de la Ville (France), Festival TransAmériques (Canada), Julidans Amsterdam (Netherlands), Megaron – The Athens Concert Hall (Greece), OSMOSIS. And with the support of O Espaço do Tempo (Portugal), NEON Organisation for Culture and Development (Greece), Centre Culturel Hellenique (France), Isadora & Raymond Duncan Dance Research Centre (Greece), AEGEAN Airlines.

Last June, the performance Titans has been presented for the first time in Athens & Epidaurus Festival (GR) and will continue its tourney in Théâtre de la Ville (FR), Théâtre des Abbesses (FR), Grec Festival de Barcelona (ES), Julidans Amsterdam (NL), Festival delle Colline Torinesi (IT), KLAP Maison pour la danse (FR), Dublin Dance Festival (IE), Guidance Festival (PT), Cie Philippe Sair (Switzerland) and finally in Eleusis during 2018.
